Catalog Presentation: ZONE
Begilda Gallery announces the presentation of the catalogue published on the occasion of ZONE, a solo exhibition by Liza Kin, curated by Vít Havránek.
ZONE was conceived as a research apparatus registering the phenomenon of atmospheric asymmetry: melancholy as a structural effect, arising at the moment a finite body encounters a space built without regard for its presence. Drawing on Gernot Böhme's aesthetic theory and Peter Sloterdijk's immunological concept of spheres, Kin translated philosophical abstraction into the register of lived, bodily experience — turning the architecture of the gallery itself into an active sculptural material. Following Maurice Merleau-Ponty, the project shifts focus from the artist's "I" toward the production of shared spaces and threshold states, where the environment functions as a decentralized system of co-presence.
The catalogue is not a record of the exhibition but its continuation. It gathers texts, photographic documentation, and the artist's own materials, and the book's structure — where images fall, where pages are left empty — follows the same rules as the exhibition itself.
The presentation will take place on September 21 at 4:00 pm. Liza Kin will speak about the exhibition's transformation into a book and present the publication.
